The historical shophouse on Race Course Road is embarking on a journey of transformation, with an ambitious A&A project designed to revitalize its classic structure. This endeavor will not only preserve the architectural integrity of the past but will also introduce a fresh, modern interior layout across its new total area of 460 square meters.
Internally, the redesign will pay homage to the building's historical significance while embracing contemporary design principles. Exposed concrete beams will be featured prominently, adding an industrial yet sophisticated vibe to the space. The flooring will alternate between the warmth of hardwood and the modern edge of polished concrete, providing a varied textural landscape that complements the overall aesthetic.
A striking mezzanine structure will be a focal point of the interior, offering an innovative use of vertical space and creating a unique visual interest. The use of strong, playful colors in the carpentry will weave a narrative of vibrancy and creativity throughout the rooms, breaking the monochrome dominance and injecting life into the space.
Natural light will play a key role in the revived shophouse, with the installation of multiple skylights ensuring that the interiors are bathed in a soft, diffused glow.
